"Sadly I missed this concert as my previous night's optimism hadn't done the trick. Heather stayed the night at our house and we'd planned on going down to St Luke's together. Instead, I called Mandy (who had been planning to do a 10K run that morning) at 8am and she very kindly agreed to go to St Luke's instead and do this concert in my place. So I handed all the costumes and music to Heather, then headed off to A&E at Whipps Cross hospital!

Apart from hating to miss a gig, it was also a shame that I missed seeing Tim Weiss who was conducting Eight Lines. The last time we saw Tim was at Oberlin in 2000 when he did such a fabulous job of steering his students through Tehillim and Andriessen's De Stijl. Lovely bloke - and I'll never forget him lending us his car - very trusting. Fortunately we got it back to him in one piece, despite the snow storm on the freeway!"
