Ready to go on

“A sad occasion this – my final concert with Synergy and my last performance of the fabulous Desert Music. Suzanne and Mandy replaced Rachel and Amy but slotted in perfectly, and a wonderful, harmonious time was had by all.

The futuristic-looking venue was easily accessible by very efficient trams (UK take note) and the concert was once again extremely enthusiastically received. One slightly scary moment in the intricately weaving canons had us all sweating for a few seconds (where was that darned downbeat??!) but we quickly recovered our composure!

MC2, Grenoble

While in France, everyone took advantage of the great shopping and in Grenoble, two new pairs of sexy boots were much admired! Throughout the whole trip, I marvelled at the efficiency of the French public transport – trains ran on time and were well-used, particularly by pet-owners! We coo-ed at lots of kittens and puppies – two darling little Yorkshire terrier pups in particular! So, perhaps it was to be expected that Ryanair let the side down with a faulty plane that left us stranded at Grenoble airport for over 8 hours! However, we pulled together and made the best of it along with a large number of school children who were really not annoying at all!!

We finally landed at Stansted to a lot of shrieks from the children and a round of applause – the pilot graciously thanked us “Merci - Vive la France!”. Absolutely!”
